Eyelands is Riccardo's travelling project dedicated to the islands and their communities.

During each trip, Riccardo explores a special cultural feature of an island with a series of interviews and a movement workshop for local people. The aim of the workshop is to make and present a performance/installation at the end of the residency. Each travel is documented with photo and video material which will become a documentary and an exhibition in a future phase of the project.

The project started in summer 2018. The first trip was to La Gomera (Canary Islands) with the support of  Centro Coreográfico de La Gomera and Paso a 2-Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid. During this residency, Riccardo focussed on silbo gomero, the island's whistling language listed as UNESCO intangible heritage of humanity. The following stop was Malta in September 2018. There Riccardo worked on għana, one type of traditional maltese music to create a new work for the third/year dance students of University of Malta touring internationally in November 2018.

Next trips: Cyprus (May 2019) and Lipari/IT (August 2019).
